Parliamentary Agriculture Committees, Lilongwe, Malawi, 4-6 March 2014

This workshop followed on from a session on the role of Parliamentarians in transfer of technology and research to boost agricultural productivity held during the CPA’s 59th Annual Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa in September 2013.

The CPA recognizes the crucial role of Parliamentary Agriculture Committees in promoting good governance.  The objective of this programme is to help develop a greater understanding of the operations of these Committees in the Africa region in order to improve the quality of the support to them. Working together with the  Natural Resources Institute of the University of Greenwich and other specialist contributors, the group identified with the help of leaders of these Committees how further progress can be made.
