Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Regional Steering Committee meeting held for the India Region in New Delhi 

The Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) India Region has held their Regional Steering Committee meeting at Parliament House in New Delhi on Wednesday 22 February 2017. The CWP meeting was chaired by Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, MP (Lok Sabha, India), the Chairperson of the CWP India Region and the CWP International Steering Committee Members for the India Region.

Members attending the meeting included: Ms Suman Haripriya, MLA (Assam Legislative Assembly); Smt. Parul Sahu Keshri, MLA (Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly) and Ms Geeta Kora, MLA (Jharkhand Legislative Assembly) as well as staff from the CPA India Regional Secretariat.

The Chairperson of the CWP India Region discussed with the Members of the India Regional Steering Committee about the allocation of funds for regional strengthening activities and other matters.

Following the meeting of the CWP India Regional Steering Committee, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, MP (Lok Sabha, India), CWP Chairperson for the India Region and Hon. Kavitha Kalvakuntla, MP (Lok Sabha, India) travelled to London, United Kingdom to attend the CWP International Working Group Meeting and Strategy Session held at Wilton Park from 24 to 27 February 2017.
