CPA Benchmarks for Democratic Legislatures Workshop for Asia, India and South East Asia Region takes place in Perak, Malaysia 



The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Benchmarks for Democratic Legislatures Workshop is taking place from 14 to 17 December in Perak, Malaysia for the CPA Asia, India and South East Asia Regions.

The Workshop was opened by Hon. Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Legislative Assembly, Dato Nasaruddin Bin Hashim in the presence of CPA Members and the Director of Programmes from the CPA Secretariat, Ms Meenakshi Dhar.

The Workshops are supported by a resource team including Scott Hubli, National Democratic Institute of International Affairs (NDI) and Tom Duncan, Branch Secretary for the Australia Capital Territory and CPA Regional Secretary who shared their experiences on setting Benchmarks for the Legislative Agenda with Members.

Delegates to the Workshop discussed a wide range of subjects including the sharing of different CPA Branch experiences and a discussion on a plan of action for future democratic benchmarks for legislatures.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association connects, develops, promotes and supports Parliamentarians and their staff to identify benchmarks of good governance and the implementation of the enduring values of the Commonwealth.
