Post-Election Seminar in the Bahamas

The Post Election Seminar, entitled ‘285 Years and Beyond – Deepening Democracy Through Parliament’ was held from 27-29 March 2014 in the Bahamas. Moderating the seminar was Sen. The Hon Joseph Curry, Vice President of The Senate in the Parliament of the Bahamas. The Seminar covered a wide range of topics and heard from a variety of speakers from both the international resource people and a local resource team. The international resource team consisted of Senator Raynell Andreychuck from the Parliament of Canada, Ms Jacqui Sampson, Clerk of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago as well as Speaker Hon. Michael Carrington MP from the Parliament of Barbados. The local resource team was made up of Mr Sean McWeeney QC, Chairman of the Constitution Commission in the Bahamas and Hon Glenys Hanna-Martin MP Minister of Transport and Aviation. The two day seminar focused on Parliamentary Practice and Procedure and was a great success.
