What are the CPC workshops?

The CPC workshops are an opportunity for Parliamentarians and global experts to discuss major political and parliamentary issues.

At the 69th CPC, six learning and development workshops will be held during the main Conference, with an additional Youth Roundtable on youth participation.

There will also be four workshops held as part of the 42nd CPA Small Branches Conference and four workshops at the 10th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference.

'Strengthening International Law and Parliamentary Democracy in a Changing World Order: Commonwealth Leadership'

CPC Workshop A (Host Branch topic): Promoting Inter-parliamentary Dialogue for Inclusive Fair Trade in Diverse Economies, Addressing Inequality and Underdevelopment in the Commonwealth and Beyond.

CPC Workshop B: Accessible Parliaments: Inclusion for People with Disabilities.

CPC Workshop C: Parliamentary Leadership in Promoting Climate Adaptation and Resilience.

CPC Workshop D: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Parliaments: Current applications, prospects and implementation strategies.

CPC Workshop E: Protecting Human Rights and Promoting Peace: The role of Parliaments.

CPC Workshop F: Post-Legislative Scrutiny: Connecting Parliament with the public.

Youth Roundtable:

Rebuilding Youth Trust and Participation in Democracy

• To discuss the challenges of keeping young people engaged in politics involving youth participants from South Africa.

CPA General Assembly debate:

New Leadership Opportunities for the Commonwealth: Parliamentary Action to Strengthen Democracy and International Law

• Delegates at the 69th CPC will be able to participate in a general debate at the CPA General Assembly to discuss the topic above. CPA Branches will be able to apply to speak in the debate.
