Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Webinar 2026
Work-Life Balance in Parliamentary Service: Building Sustainable and Healthy Parliamentary Careers
When: 11 August 2026, 14:00-15:00 (UTC+1)
Where: Online
Parliamentarians face unique challenges in balancing the demands of parliamentary office with family responsibilities, personal wellbeing and constituency expectations. Long working hours, public scrutiny and gender-specific pressures can impact well-being, resilience, and career progression.
This interactive panel discussion, hosted by the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) network, will bring together Parliamentarians to share experiences, discuss common challenges, and explore practical strategies for achieving a healthier and more sustainable work-life balance.
The discussion will examine how parliamentary culture, caregiving responsibilities, public expectations, and gender norms shape women's experiences in political leadership. Speakers will also highlight practical approaches and institutional reforms that can help create more supportive, family-friendly, and gender sensitive parliamentary environments.
The panel discussion will feature the sharing of best practices, responses to questions submitted in advance, and a live Q&A, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage with speakers and learn from experiences across the Commonwealth.
