CPA Strategic Plan 2026-2029 launched at Australia House

The CPA Strategic Plan 2026-2029 was launched at Australia House with Commonwealth Parliamentarians, diplomats and Commonwealth partner organisations

The CPA Strategic Plan 2026-2029 was a launched at a reception held on 24 February 2026 at the Australian High Commission in London and saw Commonwealth Parliamentarians, members of the diplomatic community in the UK and representatives of CPA and Commonwealth partner organisations come together to mark the publication of the new Strategic Plan.

Members of the CPA Co-ordinating Committee in attendance included:

  • CPA Chairperson, Hon. Dr Christopher Kalila, MP (Zambia)
  • CPA Treasurer, Senator Hon. Sue Lines, President of the Australian Senate
  • Chairperson of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP), Hon. Catherine Fife, MPP (Ontario)
  • CPA Small Branches Chairperson, Hon. Valerie Woods, MNA, Speaker of the National Assembly of Belize
  • Commonwealth Parliamentarians with Disabilities (CPwD) Chairperson, Senator Hon. Isaiah Jacob (Malaysia)

Reception guests were welcomed by the CPA Secretary-General, Stephen Twigg and remarks at the launch event were given by the CPA Chairperson, the CPA Treasurer and the Australian Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, Elisabeth Bowes.

CPA Strategic Plan 2026-2029

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Strategic Plan for 2026-2029 sets out its support for our membership of 180 Commonwealth Parliaments as well as how the organisation will advance and develop support to CPA Members through focusing on three core objectives and six cross cutting themes that will be mainstreamed across CPA operations and workstreams.
