CPA Small Branches Workshop A: Navigating Challenges, Exploring Priorities – A World Café Dialogue
About the Workshop
How can Parliamentarians address their most pressing challenges by collaboratively exploring priorities and developing a practical roadmap for their jurisdictions?
Parliamentarians and parliamentary staff in CPA Small Branches report that while their institutions are essential to democracy, they are often constrained by systemic challenges such as limited resources, an over-reliance on the Executive and a lack of technological capacity. This session is designed to tackle these and other pressing issues head-on.
The four interconnected topics foster a holistic dialogue. As participants rotate between tables, they will connect core parliamentary functions like the Separation of Powers with the Infrastructure and Resources needed to execute them. Technology will be explored as a key enabler, with Collaboration serving as the central thread that links shared ideas to more effective and resilient Parliaments.
Guided by the 2025 CPA Small Branches Survey Report’s key findings, this interactive, cabaret-style World Café will equip participants with the tools to address the most pressing issues in their jurisdictions.
Through focused, rotating discussions across key areas, attendees will share proven strategies, propose new ideas and collaboratively develop a practical roadmap for building more effective and resilient Parliaments by cross-pollinating their insights.
