
9th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference - 68th CPC
The Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) is the network of women Members of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s Parliaments and Legislatures. The network's mission is to promote the representation of women in CPA Branches and women's full and equal participation in all political and parliamentary leadership at all levels.
The 9th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference will bring together female and male Members of Parliament in the Commonwealth to discuss equal representation in Parliaments through a series of workshops and governance meetings.
The CWP Conference will follow the meeting of the CWP Steering Committee and consists of:
- Four learning and development workshops for Members of Parliament (see links below)
- A CWP Business Meeting
The Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference was previously triennial (every three years) but in 2023, CWP Members agreed to hold an annual CWP Conference.
The main theme of the 9th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference is: 'Parliaments since Beijing +30: Progress, challenges and the road ahead for gender equality'.
The 9th CWP Conference will take place from 7 to 8 October 2025 in the margins of the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados (5 to 12 October 2025).
Elections at the 9th CWP Conference:
- Election of the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) - this will take place during the 9th CWP Conference in October 2025 at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (only official CWP Branch delegates can vote in this election). The role of CWP International Chairperson is for three years. Further information about the election will be provided.

- CWP Workshop D: Parliamentarians Combatting Discriminatory Laws that Perpetuate the Disempowerment of Women
